Our decorative hand-carved wood corbels and posts are distinctive features of Southwestern style architecture with roots tracing to the arrival of Spanish friars in New Mexico. Architectural corbels are used to transfer the load from the roof or a  parapet to the vertical posts and decorative columns below. In addition to performing their intended structural purposes, each of these rustic architectural products will noticeably increase the curb appeal of your home. They lend themselves well to Spanish Mission style, Sante Fe, and Pueblo style homes.

Craftsmen cut our traditional latilla sticks from spruce, pine, and red cedar. Although latillas originated as a necessary roofing material, today they are used predominately for decorative purposes. With that in mind, we also manufacture latilla boards and ceiling panels as an inexpensive, easy to install alternative to the traditional construction method where builders place a series of individual sticks between vigas, or support beams. Our machine/hand peeled solid pine vigas are available in a number of different diameters and lengths.

Our traditional canales, or drain spouts, are available with your choice of a galvanized or copper metal lining to prevent water damage. Great care is take in the manufacture of our canales since we realize the importance of keeping water from leaking down the walls of any adobe or stucco structure.

Rough Lumber refers to lumber as it comes from the saw mill. It has not been surface planed or sanded. We sell both 1” and 2” thick rough sawn lumber boards in widths ranging from 4” to 12”. Rough lumber is often used as wall paneling adding a rustic motif.

Rough Timber is used for ceiling beams and a variety of structural and decorative purposes in homes featuring Rustic or Southwestern design themes. Our quality, rough sawn timbers range in size from 4” X 6” to 12” X 12” knotty pine posts.

Tongue & Groove Lumber has been machined to create a groove along one edge and a protruding “tongue” on the other. The tongue and groove helps align and strengthen the pieces as they fit snugly together. Our high quality knotty pine Tongue & Groove lumber is ideal for use in ceilings, walls, soffits and as wainscoting. We sell both 1” and 2” thick by 6” Tongue & Groove boards ranging in lengths from 8’ to 16’.

Southwestern architecture is characterized by a merging of Mexican, Native American, Spanish and Western American influences. As those cultures clashed during the past 400 years, the mixture of design elements became a predominant architectural style throughout the American Southwest.

Our wood products are 100% natural and bring with them the inherent natural characteristics. Checking is one of these characteristics, usually found in heavier wood products, such as timbers and Vigas. Checking refers to cracks that appear in the wood as it ages and acclimates to its surroundings. These cracks are normal unavoidable characteristics and ultimately help to create the character that makes these items an important part of the rustic and southwestern styles.

Rough Lumber and Timber  refers to lumber as it comes from the saw mill. It has not been surface planed or sanded. Rough lumber is often used as wall paneling adding a rustic motif. Rough Timbers are used for ceiling beams and a variety of structural and decorative purposes in homes featuring Rustic or Southwestern architecture.

Pine Southwest Vigas, are round beams that are typically used as structural roof support timbers. Vigas also serve decorative purposes in adobe houses and other homes where Rustic or Southwestern architecture is the goal. Southwest Vigas come in lengths from 8 to 24 feet and diameters of 6, 8, 10, and 12 inches. Vigas over 24 feet are available by special order.

Grand River Supply’s Canales, or drain spouts, come with your choice of copper or galvanized metal lining. Canales work like scuppers allowing water to drain from the roof, reducing the weight load.
